Vision and Values - Redwoods Online

Our Vision

The vision of Redwoods is to reveal God’s heart of love, care and wholeness to people who have learning disabilities.  We seek to recognise and realise their potential, supporting them to accomplish their dreams and live fulfilled lives.  We honour, respect and value each person and their family.

The way we work

The following values underpin everything we do:

1) Christian Values

Upholding and demonstrating the Christian values of humility, dignity, honesty, respect and unconditional love to everyone

2) Valuing People

Ensuring that people:

  • know that they are totally accepted for who they are
  • are listened to
  • are paid attention to
  • determine, or are assisted in determining, their own care and support

3) Valuing our staff

  • Selecting and supporting a staff team that embraces and upholds the vision of Redwoods and our Christian values
  • A commitment to ongoing staff development and training
  • Recognising that each member of staff makes a valuable contribution to: providing good care, and the running and development of Redwoods as a whole

4) Valuing Partnership

  • Working in partnership with people, their families and other agencies/individuals to enhance the quality of life and support for people in Redwoods.
  • Maintaining and strengthening links and participation in the community.

5) Valuing High Standards

  • Pursuing as high a standard of care and support as possible with the aim of exceeding expectations.
  • Complying with all Care Commission Regulations and National Standards.

6) Valuing Development

Constantly evaluating the services we provide with a view to improving and refining the care and support offered.

7) Valuing a ‘Safe Place

Creating a safe, welcoming environment and atmosphere where the love of Father God is demonstrated and people feel:

  • secure and confident
  • able to express themselves
  • loved and accepted for who they are
