Our purpose and core beliefs lead to a number of values that are central to everything we do.
Our Purpose Redwoods is established for the provision of care and support for those in need. This is as an expression of Christian faith in action. Primarily this will be care and support, in a variety of settings, for adults with Learning Disabilities, but may include any vulnerable group of people as the Directors see fit.
Our Mission is to demonstrate God’s heart of love and His care to people who are vulnerable, particularly as a result of learning disabilities.
Our vision is that, through God’s love, vulnerable people across Scotland will accomplish their dreams, reach their potential and live life to the fullest extent possible. As we expose people to the Father heart of God, their lives will be transformed and they will live life to the full. [John 10:10].
Our Core Beliefs Redwoods is a Christian organisation. We desire to express God’s love to all those with whom we come into contact and, as staff, to reflect this love in our relationships with each other. Our motivation is rooted in our relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Our faith produces a distinctive heart attitude of love. In Redwoods we believe that:
what the Bible says is true;
God is the Creator;
God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit;
God wants to bring people into relationship with Him;
God is Love and loves people unconditionally; everyone is of equal worth in His sight;
God became human in the person of Jesus who died, rose again and has the power to save, transform lives and heal; and
God is active today and works through people.
As we seek to fulfil our mission and realise our vision in line with our core beliefs, we will maintain an organisational culture based on what we value most:
